𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
was born in Leicester and began dancing with Leicester Youth Dance Theatre under the direction of Sue Rosenbloom. He trained at Coventry Centre for the Performing Arts and then at London Contemporary Dance School. He first worked with Richard Alston whilst performing with the postgraduate performance group 4D. He danced with Richard Alston Dance Company from 1995–2007 having over 25 works created on him, becoming Rehearsal Director in 2007.
In 2000, Martin was invited by Meltdown Festival director and composer Scott Walker to make Thimble Rigging to an original score. He has created five works for London Contemporary Dance School, and two works, Grey Allegro and Silken Steel, for the State School of Dance in Athens. In June 2003, Martin presented a full evening of his work at The Place, and in 2004 Charge was commissioned for The Place Prize. Grey Allegro and Charge were subsequently taken into the Richard Alston Dance Company repertoire.

Martin has restaged over 15 works by Richard Alston in the UK, Europe and the US including Light Flooding into Darkened Rooms, Such Longing for New York Theater Ballet, Brisk Singing for University of Michigan, Red Run, Fever and Gipsy Mixture for Hellenic Dance Company, Athens. 

Since 2022, Martin has been a resident guest choreographer for Ballet Manila – creating works for 
both the performing company and the Lisa Macuja School of Ballet. A piece created for the school 
for the Creations for RADC: About Face, Brink, Stealing Poison, Body & Soul, To Dance and Skylark, Lie 
of the Land, Other Than I, Madcap, Burning and Stronghold. 

For Ballet Black: Pendulum, Captured and Limbo.
For Scottish Ballet: Run For It (for Dance GB), Dark Full Ride (for Edinburgh International Festival 
2013). 
For Ballet Manila: Misfit Or Maverick, Rebel, Amid Shadows, Aria, Home, Unearthed, Romeo &

𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐣𝐚-𝐄𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐣𝐚-𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞
is a renowned Filipino prima ballerina and artistic director. She started dancing at the age of eight and trained under various renowned ballet instructors both in the Philippines and abroad. She became the principal dancer of the Philippine Ballet Theatre in 1984 and later became the first foreign soloist to join the prestigious Kirov Ballet in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1986.

Macuja-Elizalde has received numerous awards for her contributions to the arts. She was also the first artist-in-residence at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and has been recognized as a National Artist of the Philippines for dance. In addition to her accomplishments as a performer, she is also an accomplished artistic director, having founded Ballet Manila in 1995, which has become one of the country's leading ballet companies.

Macuja-Elizalde is also a philanthropist and has established the Lisa Macuja School of Ballet Manila, which provides free ballet education to underprivileged children. She has also authored several books and served as a judge on various dance competitions, and continues to be a prominent figure in the Filipino arts community.
